    Invisalign® vs. Braces

If you’re not happy with the appearance of your smile or have an uneven bite, you have access to a secret weapon.

Luckily, there’s a hassle-free way to straighten your teeth without braces. Invisalign® improves your smile in the same amount of time as traditional braces. Unlike braces, Invisalign® is convenient, comfortable, and discreet!

Want to avoid getting food stuck in your braces during meals? Ready to brush and floss your teeth? No problem… Simply remove your Invisalign® clear aligning trays! It is easy to put them right back in place when you’re done.

Anyone who wears braces knows they can be uncomfortable. Metal wires and brackets bonded to your teeth, cuts to your gums, or the inside of your cheeks. Invisalign® trays are specially fitted to your teeth and made of comfortable plastic. You will experience fewer mouth and gum problems, and you will need fewer consultations. Fewer visits to the orthodontist means more time for you to get out there and smile!

You should not have to feel self-conscious to get a straighter smile. That is why our patients love Invisalign® trays, they are virtually invisible! If you are self-conscious about wearing braces to school or work, Invisalign® leaves you free to smile while straightening your teeth! Most people will not even notice that you’re wearing them.

If you want a more confident, beautiful smile without the inconvenience of traditional braces, then Invisalign® may be the right option for you!

    How Does Invisalign® Work?

These three easy steps will put you on the path to a more confident and beautiful smile. This is the Invisalign® Process at Woodstock General & Implant Dentistry:

    Step One: Consultation

Our trained and certified Invisalign® dentists are standing by. First, we’ll create a fast and precise digital 3-D image of your teeth. This helps us map out a custom treatment plan and allows you to take sneak-peek at your new smile.

    Step Two: Fitting

Next, we create a series of clear plastic trays (aligners) just for you. You’ll wear each aligner for two weeks. They’ll work in sequence to shift your teeth a little bit at a time. The complete series may be between 20 and 30 clear aligners.

    Step Three:  Transforming Your Smile!

You may start seeing results in a matter of weeks! The fastest results come from patients who wear their aligners most often. Remember, Invisalign® aligners are clear, comfortable, and removable so they won’t interrupt your routine!

    How Much Does Invisalign® Cost?

While the cost of Invisalign varies from patient to patient and a consultation is needed in order to evaluate what you will need, you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,000 to $8,000. Schedule your appointment and our Treatment Coordinator will walk you through the financing process.

    What About “At-Home” Invisible Aligners?

Many patients are drawn to the “at-home” invisible aligners because they cost about a third of what braces do. To get started, patients either get a 3D image of their mouth or are sent an “at-home” kit. Once the scans are submitted to one of their “remote doctors”, the patient is sent aligners based on the projected treatment plan.

People are initially attracted to “at-home” treatments because they are quick, easy, and less expensive. However, this treatment neglects to address oral health problems such as crossbite, misalignment, ability to chew and more. Since there is no supervision throughout the entire process, these issues may not be resolved. This could potentially lead to irreversible and expensive damage in the future.

Most dentists, orthodontists, and even the ADA (American Dental Association) are speaking out against the use of mail-order aligners. An orthodontist does more than just straighten your teeth. They identify serious oral health problems before they even consider a personalized treatment plan. At-home aligners may have a “remote” dentist or orthodontist, but these doctors are sometimes hard to get in contact with and do not offer routine check-ups. The price of mail-order aligners is cheaper because it cuts out the doctor and a lot of necessary procedures that create for a healthy, beautiful smile.
