Our practice is unique in that we provide the surgical, cosmetic and prosthetic components of reconstructive dentistry under one facility. Our practice treatment philosophy is based on Integrative General Dental Care with a special focus on replacing missing teeth with Dental Implants and "Smile Makeovers" through Cosmetic Dentistry. Michael Tischler, DDS is a nationally recognized lecturer and author, and our techniques and products are presented to our colleagues in the dental profession on a regular basis and held up to the highest standards. His popular DVD video is a 4 hour presentation that educates his dental colleauges about dental implants and bone grafting. Maurice Tischler, DDS who was formerly a clinical instructor at NYU College of Dentistry and Fred Milton DMD, and Joseph Muscatiello, DMD, join Michael as associates bringing ideal care to Tischler Dental. Michael has been listed as one of the top clinicians in continuing education in the United States by Dentistry Today for every year since 2003 and is a Fellow of The Academy Of General Dentistry. He was awarded the "Feltman Hunn Medal Of Merit Award in 2007 for his leadership achievments and contributions to the field of dentistry.

In July 2008 Dr. Michael Tischler and Dr. Maurice Tischler were selected by their dental peers to be included in the inaugural list of Top Dentists in the Hudson Valley. This honor was once again bestowed in 2009 to The Tischler Dentists. This poll conducted by "USA Top Dentists" and "Hudson Valley Magazine". This honor is very valuable to us since hundreds of dentists had to cast thousands of votes on the abilities of their colleauges to be included. Also in 2008 Tischler Dental was voted The Best of The Best Cosmetic Dentists in the 2008 Mid Hudson Valley readers Choice Awards. We can provide one appointment crowns and inlays. No need for temporary crowns, and no second cement appointment. As the first dental practice in New York to have the E4D CAD Cam milling machine we are ahead of the curve with this revolutionary technology. We are an exclusive member of the E4D Century Club, signifying the first 100 E4D dentists in the world to have this incredible technology. The laser scanning of the E4D machine has improved accuracy over the previous generation scanning and milling that required a powder to optically read margins. This is the future of dentistry and is available for our patients to benefit.

With many different biocompatible materials to choose from, this is truly ideal treatment to restore broken and decayed teeth and create veneers in a very conservative way.

We are a Periolase certified office which allows us to treat periodontal disease with an FDA approved laser and treatment protocol. With gum disease being so prevalent, we can treat advanced gum disease that would normally require surgery. The Periolase process doesn't involve any cutting or sutures. It actually regenerates tissue as opposed to taking it away through surgery.

In 2007 Tischler Dental was recognized for Excellence In Dental Office Design in the National Dental Office Design Competition organized by Matsco/Dental Economics and ADA Dental Advantage. Tischler Dental was awarded a "Certificate Of Special Congressional Recognition" in 2007 by Congressman Maurice Hinchey. This award recognizes "outstanding and invaluable service to the community". It is our belief that through our patients being relaxed our objectives of ideal dental health can be better achieved. This combined with all hardwood and solid flooring creates the safest situation for allergic people and for sterility. About our Practice and Award Winning Facility

Tischler Dental has been located since 1971 in Woodstock, NY. Our facility which has been open since January 2007 at 121 Route 375 in Woodstock, is 10,000 square feet located on 9 beautifully landscaped and wooded acres overlooked by The majestic Catskill Mountains of NYS.

Our building has been awarded by local organizations and State Officials. Congressman Maurice Hinchey has given Tischler Dental a "Certificate of Special Recognition for Service to the Community. The Dental Implant Center at Tischler Dental

Our dental office has 12 dental treatment rooms, and included in these 12 treatment rooms is a separate Dental Implant Center consisting of 2 surgical areas that allows dental implant, bone grafting, periodontal surgery, apicoectomies, connective tissue grafting, sedation and other surgical procedures to be performed in a specially equipped area. An in Office CAT Scan offers our patients the opportunity to have immediate 3D imaging of their jaws. This is the only in-office CAT Scan machine in the area and offers our patients convenience and ideal treatment planning. See the i Cat machine in an NBC news video. There is a separate sterilization and supply area so that all surgeries are self contained for further safety. Michael utilizes the surgical suite for in-office courses for dentists. This multimedia suite is equipped for video and has abundant room for observation of surgeries by dental colleagues for courses. A seminar room with a large Plasma TV is available so seminar attendees can be educated. The surgical area and the entire office has zoned air purification for the utmost patient safety. There is also full monitoring capabilities for sedation including an EKG, CO2, BP, and Digital Pulse Oximetry. Michael Tischler's certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support is evidence of his commitment to your safety.

The Dental Implant Center at Tischler Dental

Four separate treatment rooms are set aside for our dental hygiene patients, so that our practice philosophy of patients having healthy gums can be provided. Each dental treatment room also has a television for our patients to watch or to watch a movie. Each dental treatment room offers generous views of nature and gardens, and as mentioned above, our intent is to allow our patients to relax and be calm. A comfortably appointed reception area offers privacy and ergonomics for our patients to check in and out of the office. We are a dental hygiene based practice. There are 4 treatment rooms specifically for treatment by our dental hygienists. A key concept in our practice philosophy is that our patients' dental treatment starts with healthy gums as a foundation. Careful twice a year monitoring and teeth cleanings by our dental hygienists insures that patients of our practice maintain their oral health and therefore the health of the entire body. This ties in with our integrative care philosophy. Published literature relates the health of a persons gums to their over-all health including the heart and other organs. For moderate to advanced gum disease we utilize the Periolase TM from Millenium Technologies.This allows us to treat periodontal cases without the need for surgery. We are one of the few dental offices certified to perform this FDA approved procedure.

Within our dental practice facility, almost all areas of dentistry can be performed. Tooth replacement is done via dental implant placement as well as restoration of dental implants placed. Bone can also be grafted if there is insufficient bone for dental implant placement. Family dental care is also delivered utilizing bio compatible materials. All treatment can be performed with conscious sedation for apprehensive patients.

Many unique modalities of dental treatment are performed in our facility. Sedation dentistry, acupuncture with dental treatment, dental implant surgery and restoration, gum surgery, and much more. Our practice philosophy is that each modality of dental treatment is performed by the practitioner that is best trained in that area. Working as a team, we can then deliver ideal dental care. This practice philosophy, at times, requires our patients be referred to certain dental specialists outside of our practice. These specialists are considered part of our treatment team. Some examples of this are root canal specialists, orthodontists, and children's dentists. Through utilizing an expert in the field when deemed necessary, our patients are assured the best care possible.

Through creating an ideal photographic image for our patients, we can best show them how they do look and how they look after a dental cosmetic makeover.This is our commitment to showing the importance of a patients image in relation to their everyday life.

Our Implant, Restorative, and Cosmetic Dentists

Dr. Michael Tischler is a nationally recognized leader in the dental field for his achievements in educating his colleagues through lectures and published articles on the topic of dental implants and bone grafting. He has placed and restored thousands of dental implants with a documented success rate of over 99%. Michael is one of only 300 dentists worldwide that have been credentialed by The American Board Of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. Michael received a Doctor Of Dental Surgery Degree from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., before joining Tischler Dental in 1989. Dr. Tischler brings dental implant, bone grafting and gum surgery experience to the dental practice, in addition to prosthetic and cosmetic makeover dental procedures. Dr. Tischler lectures throughout the country to his colleagues and has had many articles published on the principles of implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and bone grafting in major dental journals. His lecture schedule is vigorous. Dr. Tischler has been listed by "Dentistry Today," the nation's leading clinical news magazines for dentists, as a leader in continuing education since 2003 and is also a Dental Advisory Board Member for this widely read dental journal. He is also on the Editorial Advisory Board for The Journal Of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry. Dr. Tischler is also The Director of Implant Education for Microdental Laboratory, one of the most recognized dental labs in the country. Some of his previous lectures have been at International Implant Symposiums, for The Academy Of General Dentistry, The Greater new York Dental Meeting, The New York County Dental Society, The Toronto Implant Study Club, The Third District Dental Society, The Ninth District Dental Society, The Greater Long Island Dental meeting, The Big Apple Dental Meeting, and The American Academy Of Implant Dentistry. He has also been on The Biohorizons Implant Systems Educational Speakers Panel for the past 10 years .Michael holds hands on courses in his office on a regular basis and many corporate sponsored courses. Dr. Tischler is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry.There are less than 300 dentists in the world that have achived Diplomate status from the ABOI. He is also a Diplomat and Fellow of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Fellow of The Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of The American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Fellow and graduate of The Misch International Implant Institute surgical and prosthetic programs. Associate Fellow of The American Academy Of Implant Dentistry, and an Associate Member of The American Academy of Periodontology. Obtainment of each one of these credentials requires rigorous testing and case presentation before credentialed peers. Dr. Tischler is also an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Tischler's certification in Conscious IV and oral sedation allows for the lessening of apprehension of patients undergoing dental procedures. Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an adjunct to Dr. Tischler's surgical training. In-office utilization of Platelet Rich Plasma for bone grafting and periodontal procedures exemplifies his commitment to treating his patients with state of the art procedures.

Maurice Tischler, DDS

Tischler Dental was founded in 1971 by Dr. Maurice "Buzzy" Tischler , who for many years was a clinical professor of prosthetics at NYU College of Dentistry. He is a certified acupuncturist, and has extensive training in Homeopathic Medicine. Dr. Tischler has a passion to tie in a view of his patients' over-all health to their dental condition. Through combining extensive clinical skills with knowledge of how materials relate to a person's health, Dr. Tischler can offer a unique perspective on patient care. Dr. Tischler is a life member of the American Dental Association, life member of OKU Dental Honorary Society, and is certified in the PeriolaseTM FDA Approved LNAP proceedure by Millenium Technologies. In 2008 Dr. Maurice Tischler was selected by his dental peers to be included in the inaugural list of Top Dentists in the Hudson Valley. Fred Milton, DMD

In 2002 William Fred Milton DMD joined Tischler Dental as an associate doctor. Dr. Milton has completed the continuum at The Pankey Institute and follows the philosophy of Dr. Peter Dawson through extensive training with Dr. Dawson. Dr. Milton is one of the few dentists in the world to use resultant force vectors in his work. Skilled in cosmetic dentistry, he incorporates traditional methods and a range of complementary modalities in his scope of services. Dr. Milton is certified in the PeriolaseTM FDA Approved LNAP proceedure by Millenium Technologies.

As a team, the hygiene department works very hard to achieve the best quality of care for our patients. One of our main focuses is assessing periodontal disease.  Periodontal disease is a chronic disease that is very common among adults.  If it is not treated, it can result in tooth loss and can contribute to other systemic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. It is our mission and duty to eliminate periodontal disease and bring the mouth and body to optimum healthy and well being. 

Donna Demczak, RDH

Donna graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  Her passion and drive has orchestrated her to be the recipient of numerous distinguished academic and clinical awards.  Her leadership skills and professionalism were honored with the prestigious Joanne Gurenlian Award.  She is a licensed dental hygienist and a certified dental assistant.  She is also certified in local anesthesia.   By understanding her patient’s needs and recognizing significant clinical findings she develops an appropriate plan for achieving and maintaining optimal oral health.  She puts her heart into the delivery of detailed dental care and patient education designed with a full body approach. 

Heidi Maisch, RDH

Heidi is a licensed Dental Hygienist, and a recent graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Applied Sciences, her many years of experience in the service industry has prepared her well to deliver compassion and calm to the most anxious of dental patients. Heidi’s top priority is providing optimal oral health and her goal is to change the way people feel about dentistry by making everyone comfortable with preventive dental care. She prides herself in centering her care on the needs of each individual patient, while designing homecare strategies that fit every patient’s individual needs. Her fun loving, infectious smile brings great energy to our team!

 

Tanya McFarland

Tanya started her career as a dental assistant and graduated Honors with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Hudson Valley Community College.  During Tanya’s free time she can be found volunteering for many different Children’s Dental Health Programs.  Her love of children combined with her passion for dental education has given Tanya a unique perspective when working with apprehensive children…and their parents!  Her patience and fun loving smile brings great energy and focus to our younger clientele.

Through tax exempt donations from individuals, families, businesses and corporations we are helping children in need in our local area. through the Tischler Dental Foundation Inc. A fundraiser in October 2009 ( date to be announced) at Tischler Dental  will include an auction, food and festivities. 

Donations from our fundraiser, and many other sources throughout the year will be given directly to families in need, used to provide dental services, and given to organizations that provide child support services.
