Dr. Michael Tischler
Dr. Michael Tischler is an internationally recognized leader in the dental field for his achievements in educating his colleagues through many lectures and over 25 published articles on the topic of dental implants and bone grafting and cosmetic dentistry. Reconstruction of his patients mouth and tooth replacement with dental implants. Dental Implants and cosmetics are Michael's true passion. He is appreciative that he can provide this service to his patients and that he truly enjoys planning and performing these miracles of dentistry. He has placed and restored thousands of dental implants with the highest success rate and has received numerous awards for his skill as an implant and cosmetic dentist. Michael received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., before joining Tischler Dental in 1989. Dr. Tischler brings dental implant, bone grafting and gum surgery experience to the dental practice, in addition to prosthetic and cosmetic makeover dental procedures. Dr. Tischler lectures throughout the country to his colleagues and has had many articles published on the principles of implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and bone grafting in major dental journals. As one of the nation's leading implant and cosmetic dentists, his lecture schedule is vigorous. Dr. Tischler has been listed by "Dentistry Today," the nation's leading clinical news magazines for dentists, as a leader in continuing education since 2003 and is also on The CE Editorial Board for this widely read dental journal. He is also on the Editorial Advisory Board for The Journal of Implant and Advanced Clinical Dentistry. Dr. Tischler is also The Former Director of Implant Education for DaVinci Dental Studios in West Hills, CA. DaVinci is one of the most renowned dental labs in the country. Michael was additionally the Director Of Implant Education for the prestigious Nash Institute in Charlotte NC. Michael is faculty for the UMDNJ Jersey Dental School AAID Maxi Course.
Michael is the only dentist certified to perform both the surgical and restorative aspects of the Hybridge protocol in the Hudson Valley.
Some of his previous lectures have been at International Implant Symposiums, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the New York County Dental Society, the Toronto Implant Study Club, the Third District Dental Society, the Ninth District Dental Society, the Greater Long Island Dental meeting, the Big Apple Dental Meeting, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He has also been on the BioHorizons Implant Systems Educational Speakers Panel for the past 10 years. Michael holds hands on courses in his office on a regular basis and many corporate sponsored courses. Michael has utilized the BioHorizons implant system exclusively for the past ten years with a documented success rate of over 95%.
Dr. Michael Tischler was awarded the Feltman-Hunn Medal of Merit for 2007. This award is given by the Third District Dental Society, a component of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association, and signifies exceptional leadership and dedication to the art and science of dentistry.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011 Dr. Michael Tischler was selected by his dental peers to be included in the list of Top Dentists in the Hudson Valley. Dr. Tischler is dedicated to providing the best dental experience for his patients in Dutchess County, Ulster County, and the Hudson Valley. Beyond his reputation as one of the area's leading cosmetic dentists, he is also dedicated to patient comfort. His certification in Conscious IV and oral sedation allows for the lessening of apprehension of patients undergoing dental procedures. Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is an adjunct to Dr. Tischler's surgical training. In-office utilization of Platelet Rich Plasma for bone grafting and periodontal procedures exemplifies his commitment to treating his patients with state of the art procedures.
With over 900 hours of documented continuing education hours, Dr. Tischler is committed to excellence for his patients. Dr. Maurice Tischler
Tischler Dental was founded in 1971 by Dr. Maurice "Buzzy" Tischler, who for many years was a clinical professor of prosthetics at NYU College of Dentistry. He is a certified acupuncturist, and has extensive training in Homeopathic Medicine. Dr. Tischler has a passion to tie in a view of his patients' overall health to their dental condition. Through combining extensive clinical skills with knowledge of how materials relate to a person's health, Dr. Tischler can offer a unique perspective on patient care.
Dr. Tischler is a life member of the American Dental Association, life member of OKU Dental Honorary Society, and is certified in the Periolase™ FDA Approved LNAP procedure by Millennium Technologies. Dr. Fred Milton
In 2002, Dr. William Fred Milton joined the cosmetic dentists at Tischler Dental as an associate doctor. Dr. Milton has completed the continuum at the Pankey Institute and follows the philosophy of Dr. Peter Dawson through extensive training with Dr. Dawson. Dr. Milton is one of the few dentists in the world to use resultant force vectors in his work. Skilled in cosmetic dentistry, he incorporates traditional methods and a range of complementary modalities in his scope of services. Dr. Milton is certified in the Periolase™ FDA Approved LNAP procedure by Millennium Technologies.
Dental Hygiene Team
At our practice serving Dutchess County, Ulster County, and the Hudson Valley, our hygiene team works alongside our cosmetic dentists to ensure each patient receives exceptional dental care. One of the main focuses of our hygiene team is assessing periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is a chronic disease that is very common among adults. If it is not treated, it can result in tooth loss and can contribute to other systemic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. It is our mission and duty to eliminate periodontal disease and bring the mouth and body to optimum healthy and well being.
Heidi Maisch, RDH
Heidi is a licensed Dental Hygienist, and a recent graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Applied Sciences. Her many years of experience in the service industry have prepared her well to deliver compassion and calm to the most anxious of dental patients. Heidi’s top priority is providing optimal oral health and her goal is to change the way people feel about dentistry by making everyone comfortable with preventive dental care. She prides herself in centering her care on the needs of each individual patient, while designing homecare strategies that fit every patient’s individual needs. Her fun loving, infectious smile brings great energy to our team!
Tanya McFarland
Tanya started her career as a dental assistant and graduated with honors with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Hudson Valley Community College. During Tanya’s free time she can be found volunteering for many different children’s dental health programs. Her love of children combined with her passion for dental education has given Tanya a unique perspective when working with apprehensive children…and their parents! Her patience and fun loving smile brings great energy and focus to our younger clientele.
Valarie Kirschoffer
Valerie began her career as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2002. Throughout the years, she has gained experience in different areas of dentistry including pediatric, orthodontic, cosmetic, general and periodontal dentistry. Her main goal and focus is educating patients in oral hygiene by assessing patients' needs, planning and implementing preventive and therapeutic procedures to promote and maintain the patients' oral health. Since working at Tischler Dental, she has grown professionally, using state of the art equipment in a paperless atmosphere, familiarizing periodontal patients with the LANAP procedure and working with homeopathic remedies to promote and maintain good oral health without the use of chemicals. Valerie is a current and proud member of The American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA) and is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications from Empire State College.
Brittany Parrett RDH
As the newest member of our dental hygiene team, Brittany is a recent graduate of Hudson Valley Community Colleges Dental Hygiene Program. Bringing with her a youthful and novel approach to preventive dentistry, Brittany is licensed in both local Infiltration Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Analgesia. During her time at Hudson Valley, she was the recipient of 4 scholarships/awards for her outstanding academic achievement, professionalism, and dedication to the dental hygiene profession including her name being engraved on the Mid-Hudson Dental Hygienists’ Association plaque in their Dental Hygiene Clinic. Passionate about providing patient-centered care to each and every one of her patients, she is well educated in sedation dentistry for those with dental phobias or long appointments evident by her first place winning table clinic on the subject. With preventing, detecting, and treating gum disease & tooth decay in her patients being of the utmost importance to her, she strives to ensure each patient at Tischler Dental is well educated and comfortable throughout all of their treatments.back to top
